Born in Japan, but native in both Japanese and English, having been raised evenly in Japan and the U.S. After 5 years of hands-on experience in technical translation and software/website localization at a major software localization company, I became independent as a freelance translator/localization specialist.
In addition to standard technical translation of manuals, help systems, technical presentations and brochures, I have hands-on experience with many development tools including: RoboHelp, MS Visual Studio, InstallShield(version3.x and 5.x) and Delphi. I have many years of experience localizing UI strings in these environment.
Through years of experience, I have learned about various potential marketing and QA issues that are introduced when the cultural differences between the audiences in the two countries are not considered. You can rest assured that the clarity of the instructions in your user's guide or the impact of your presentation will be maintained in my translation work.
I am Microsoft certified (MOUS Expert) in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook in both Japanese and English versions. This means that all of the formatting, line breaks, page breaks, hyperlink destinations, field codes, and other advanced features in your Office documents will remain intact in my final translated version.
